The Lives of Handbag Designers Throughout the World

Have you ever wanted to know more about the designer who created your favorite handbag? The new website, We Design Handbags profiles the lives of handbag designers from all over the world.  The site runs on the principle that those interested in handbags would also be interested in the fascinating lives of many of their designers; to get a brief snapshot into the history and day-to-day lives of these talented men and women from all points of the world. In addition, the site aims to offer insight into the business of designing handbags to those who may be interested in breaking into the field.  The profiles are designed to show how a real-life designer lives and makes a living at his or her art.

Each week We Design Handbags tells the story of a different handbag designer. There is no set requirement for who will be profiled each week.  The designer chosen can be a prolific, famous designer of high-end bags or a lesser known designer who makes only a few handcrafted bags per season.  Either way, the reader is introduced to new and interesting facts regarding their design aesthetic, the materials used, how they broke into the business, and how they continue to be successful in such a competitive market. Each weekly article asks the designers what tools they work with, how they improve their skills and techniques, how they see their bags in the future, and what has been their biggest mistake. Readers can then post their own comments or questions on the articles featured on We Design Handbags.

Currently, We Design Handbags is looking for more designers to profile.  In fact, anyone involved in the handbag business can tell his or her story in the "Tell Us About You" section of the website.  Pat Lucas, creator of the site feels that a profile on We Design Handbags could be an amazing opportunity for an up and coming designer to get their message and their bags out to the public.  Lucas says, "A profile on our website could be a great opportunity for designers to promote their bags."
