It is obvious that every reader or writer would like to receive clear and readable text, especially from the point of eyesight issues. In this context it is appropriate to look over the best fonts for reading on a computer desktop and printing on a paper. 
There is also a need to undrline a difference between printing and typing typefaces. On the first stages of publishing, typing fonts were less adjustable to scales, while printing fonts could be zoomed easily. On the contrary, the last ones were performed in vector forms that could not be transferred perfectly on the computer desktop due to lack of pixels. 
Many successful attempts were made in order to produce adjustable typing fonts, which resulted in emergence of popular nowadays font families. Chuck Bigelow was an initiator of transforming computer fonts into best options for publishing. He is a “father” of Pellucida typeface, a counterpart of printing Lucinda. The basis of his typing fonts, usually bitmap ones, is a square pixel grid of monitors, which presents every typed character with a group of pixels. Eventually, Chuck Bigelow introduced quite readable and sharp-cut typeface. 
This innovation was accepted by Apple and Windows, which applied pixel bitmap fonts in their products. In Apple they are called after large cities and countries (Geneva as bitmap version of Helvetica, Monaco - Coutier, New York – Times New Roman, etc.). In Windows, bitmap fonts are used for headings of files, folders or labels. They marked with red-and-white tag. The only defect bitmap fonts possess is a limit in zooming and scale. The problem is not solved fully. That is why modern publishers use bitmap fonts on a computer screen, and then they are converted into printing typefaces, adjustable to scales.
 A nice example of appropriate choice font is publishing industry. It is a specific sphere where text readability plays an important role in alerting an attention of readers. Such typefaces have distinctive serifs that are perceived by people with fewer efforts. When a font selection is made, one need to consider it should fit in the entire style of the newspaper. Do not overload the paper recommended page by a large number of fonts – it will not bring any success. Headings are likely to maintain not more than two font types.
