It should not simply blend with your business. So, have your seen your business cards lately? Are they attractive enough to catch attention? Here are ways to make the best design and make the most of your business card.

• Assess your card. Look at it from the front to the back. Is your card attractive compelling, and memorable? When is the last time you heard someone tell you that he showed your card to his friends or asked for another of your card to give to his friends? If your answer if never, then you are missing out on the use of your cards. Now is the best time to do a makeover on your cards or better yet create new cards. • Create new cards. If you think your present cards are not good enough for your marketing campaign, then start from scratch and create new cards. Before you decide on the design, brainstorm on the possible designs you can incorporate in your new card. Here are some things you need to consider:

o Should you change the size and shape of your card?
o Can I make a customized logo to include in your card?
o Can you afford a die cut design for your card?
o Would be putting a tag line or quotation at the back of the card?
o Would be printing a coupon, a list of your top products, or other valuable information at the back of your business card templates?
o Can you make the back side into a sticker?

All these are important considerations that you need to think about the next you design your business card.

• Things to avoid. There are a lot of design mistakes that you need to avoid. Some of them are:

o Not putting an email address. Let’s face it it’s 2011 and technology has changed a lot. If you want an easy way for your techie prospects to reach you, don’t forget to include your email in your card. Don’t let them try to guess your email address; give it to them straight away in your card.

o Information overload. Remember to keep it simple by putting only the important information in your card. If there are other details you need to tell your prospects, point them to your web site. Don’t try to overcrowd your card with unnecessary details as this will only make your card look confusing.

o Don’t sacrifice quality. Never sacrifice the quality of your card for price. There is a lot of money saving options available today, so you don’t have any reason to create unattractive and flimsy cards.
