When I first started to look at extended warranty options,Car Warranty Options Articles I was astounded at the prices that were being charges. Paying through the nose in order to secure a little bit of peace of mind didn't seem like a great approach.

Much like with car insurance, it seemed that warranty prices were rising. I received a number of quotes and noticed that the prices seemed to be high in all cases, although the extent of cover being offered did vary considerably.

As I collected documentation from one car showroom after another, I suddenly had a moment of realisation.

Maybe car warranties weren't really this expensive. Maybe I was just looking in the wrong place.

A quick online search revealed that there were a number of companies selling warranties at considerably lower prices than I'd been presented with when visiting car retailers.

The warranties offered online weren't by car retailers at all - these providers were independent car warranty companies.

It seemed that they were offering policies that offered the same extent of cover, but for less money.

By selling direct to the consumer, such companies are able to offer reduced price warranty deals. I was able to find a number of car warranty specialists with policies priced at less than 50% of those that I'd been offered locally.

My search demonstrated the importance of shopping around. It's vital that we, as consumers, don't allow ourselves to be fooled into buying the first product that we are offered.

If you're considering purchasing car warranty then you need to be aware that there are plenty of options available to you.

Don't pay over the odds - get a deal that's right for you.
