It seems like a daunting endeavor but becoming a VoIP is actually quite simple – that is,Be A VoIP: What it takes To Make it in the VoIP Industry Articles if you have a good VoIP service provider and a great marketing plan behind you.

Having A Great VoIP Service Provider

Getting a good wholesale VoIP service provider behind you is crucial. It is their VoIP service that you’ll be marketing. Hence, it has to be worth the investment that you’ll put into acquiring your customers.

You might consider becoming your own VoIP, of course. But there is a huge amount of capital, time and skill necessary just to get started. On average, you will need about half a million dollars just to get a medium-sized VoIP started. This does not even assume that you already have clients to serve. You will need time and a separate investment for marketing in order to do that.

To become a VoIP from scratch, you will need at least two trunking sources; a system for managing the rating, routing and fail-over capacities of trunks; a system for managing end-user connections; a system to automatically configure and reconfigure ATAs in the field; at least two database servers, two session border controllers, two class 4 switch servers, and so much more. And, this is just for starters. It is no wonder that many are turning to the VoIP reselling option instead.

When you opt to become a VoIP reseller, do some homework first before getting with any wholesale VoIP service provider. There are several types out there – there are even outright scammers posing as wholesale VoIP providers. Since you will be investing your money in acquiring customers, look at your terms with the VoIP service provider. It is important that you get to keep the customer that you get.

Typically, you can get with a good wholesale VoIP service provider with a budget of $3,000 to $5,000. Of course, this is separate from your marketing budget. This only covers the cost of setup as a reseller, as well as the wholesale VoIP service provider’s fringe services, such as a control panel for you to manage accounts and a website with account signup and payment processing functionalities.

Acquiring Customers Through Your Marketing Plan

You might ask: “what’s with the plan?” Well, this isn’t like the Field of Dreams where you can just sell it, and they will buy. You have to package your product correctly, as it deserves. Even if you have the best VoIP service in the whole world, it’s useless unless people get to know about it and actually use the service.

Here, it is important to focus on correcting misinformation about the VoIP industry. You have to distinguish your product as separate and different from the slew of free VoIP services out there, as well as those cheap ones that offer bad service. The idea is to be comparable to, if not better than, the services of traditional phone companies. The users of these traditional phone companies are your primary target. Hence, your product shouldn’t be turning them off to non-mobile phones. In marketing your VoIP service, your customers should know and experience its convenience (similar to traditional phones) at relatively more affordable rates.
