Indian Call Center Industry has revolutionized the job opportunities as well as economic growth of the country when unemployment rates were very high.
Call Center Services are more a part of our daily existence than a service. This may sound over the top but in reality, this statement holds true. What does a person do when he is faced with problems pertaining to banking or computing? Most probably he calls an inbound call center. You take a call on your cellphone, pestering it may be for you. But it turns out that it is a part of a call center telemarketing initiative. Whenever one wish to avail a service or needs to clarify a few things regarding a service he has availed, it is again a call center service that comes into the picture.
In the world where services sector consistently aims to serve its customers with the very best service, such services are bound to become ubiquitous. These centers of service have changed the landscape of the services industry, but there is something more that has happened beyond this.
Call center telemarketing by chance or by design happens to have employed and continues to recruit a lot of young people. With India being home to a significant percentage of the world’s youth, this sector has created job opportunities that were not so easily available to youth earlier on. Some people may not approve of employment opportunities in an inbound call center, but the truth is, it has done more for the country than anybody has thought of. A decade or two back, educations did not really guarantee a job. Unemployment rates were high.
Economic growth, an emergence of India as a power to reckon coupled with the rise of Indian BPO sector has given easy employment avenues to the youth of the country. Anybody with basic communication and technological skills can hope to make a living or can support his studies through some work in the Indian call center industry. It is always very important for the youth to be involved in something constructive. Disappointment in the youth can result in unrest. It can be fuelled by vested interests to create anarchy.
Thus, the Indian call center sector in some way has channelized the energy of the youth to build a behemoth of services that is known worldwide for efficiency and affordability of services.
India is a country where studies are stressed upon more than anything else. People are supposed to look for employment opportunities only through this path. In such a scenario, searching for an alternate career path becomes extremely difficult. People can always look to support themselves through work in BPOs till they finally achieve the destination of their dreams.
