People are certainly attracted to art. Museums always have long queues of visitors waiting for their turn to view the work of the masters. Many homes and offices have at least several pieces of paintings adorning the walls from Contemporary Oil Paintings to realistic paintings of the 20th century. Much as these art lovers desire to have at least one masterpiece in their possession it is often difficult,Contemporary Oil Paintings as Captivating and Intriguing Works of Art Articles if not impossible, since the Michelangelo’s and Rembrandts are securely kept in the museums and private homes. Besides that, the well known works of Da Vinci, Botticelli and other geniuses of the Renaissance period cost a fortune.

If ever some of the masterpieces are put up for auction, private collectors compete to gain possession of the artwork which often runs to millions of dollars. However, for some people the value of an art piece does not depend upon its monetary price but the appreciation for beauty and the passion of the artist. Many Contemporary Oil Paintings have yet to gain acclaim and acknowledgement from art connoisseurs but they are a representation of the creativity of the artist. Years may pass before the art works will get the recognition they deserve but they evoke appreciation and emotional value for someone who has a deep regard for art.

Some people buy art for investment purposes and not for something they can enjoy while hanging on the wall of the living room. The possibility that a Contemporary Painting will increase in value overnight is not always the likelihood. Some paintings that are popular and worth a considerable value became so after a century or so long after the genius has died and there will no longer be any addition to his work. You might even wonder whether that painting you own will increase in value once the artist passes away. However, many artists simply paint just to have an expression of their inner emotions and the freedom for their artistic endeavors even if there is little financial compensation.

In this generation, artists have more freedom to express their emotions in art. They may not be able to produce work similar to those we regard as masterpieces but they can produce amazing pieces that gain the respect of critics. However, the bane of artists are the replicas being reproduced from the masterpieces which are almost as close to the originals and are being offered for sale by art galleries. The prices are definitely lower which makes them more attractive for buyers. The problem with some art galleries is they try to pass it on to unknowing individuals as originals; hence, the need for an authentication whether the art work is a forgery or an original.

However, there are people who really prefer the replicas. If they hang it in the walls of the office, no one would be any wiser that it is not an authentic piece except for a curator of an art gallery or the art history professor from the college who are not likely to visit the office.
