Birla institute of Technology and Science (BITS),BITSAT 2016 Details Articles Pilani is one of the most sought out universities in India. The university has three campuses across India- Pilani Campus, Goa Campus and Hyderabad Campus. It also has one campus in Dubai. The Pilani campus is the main campus of BITS. Further, there are two more proposed centers coming up at Vizag and Bhubaneswar.

The institute provides both postgraduate and undergraduate courses in different educational fields but, the main focus is in the field of science and technology. Overall there are 15 academic departments. The institute shortlists students on the basis of their score in the entrance exam- Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT), conducted by the university itself. The entrance exam tests a students analytical and logical reasoning, and their knowledge in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. To be eligible for admission student must obtain a minimum of 75% in 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects.

The total time duration of the test is 3 hours and total number of questions is 150. The test will consist of four sections- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Logical Reasoning. The Physics and Chemistry section will have 40 questions each while the mathematics section will have 45 questions. The English and logical reasoning section will have only 25 questions. Each question carries 3 marks each and there is a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. However, no mark will be deducted for unattempted questions. There is no sectional obligation and one can easily shuffle between the sections. Also, there is no sectional time obligation aswell. So, candidates need to divide the allotted time between the sections efficiently and try to make the most of it. The topics covered in all the sections will be basically from 10+2 syllabus of the particular subjects.

This year, BITSAT 2016 registrations began on 8 January, 2016 and will close on 5 March, 2016. Candidates can apply online on the official site of BITS. The slot booking for the examination will began from 21 March, 2016 till 10 April, 2016. The BITSAT Hall ticket will be available for download from 20 April, 2016 to 30 April, 2016.
