When is a Cover Letter Necessary When it Comes to Applying For Job Opportunities?
The answer to this one is easy: ALWAYS. I cannot stress the importance of a cover letter enough-if you are out in the job market in this current economy, you are going to want to make sure you take all the proper steps to set yourself up for success. And the first impression that any employment office gets of you and your abilities is your cover letter.
CV letters are quite simple to compile, and help introduce yourself and your abilities to the hiring manager in charge. But in order to get their attention, you need to make sure that your CV letter stands out and supports your resume among the sea of other CV letters and resumes they will be receiving in response to any posted job advertisements from the paper and online classifieds.
Without including a CV letter with your correspondence, with or without a resume, you will be setting yourself up for instant failure! To most business executives, not including a CV letter in your business correspondence is considered lazy and unprofessional.
You should never question the reasoning behind adding a CV letter to your resume - it will always help you instead of hurt you when it comes to your job hunt. In the tough economy today, landing your dream job means financial stability, security and food on the table for you and your family. Why risk the opportunity to land the perfect job by refusing to submit a simple cover letter with your resume when applying for work?
So go ahead and give yourself a nudge in the right direction by including a cover letter in any and all correspondence with a company you are looking to work for to give the right impression and to show them you are serious about getting the job. Nothing shows you're on the ball more than a properly written cover letter in addition to your stunning resume!
