Smartphone manufacturer extraordinaire HTC has been busy with the release of several new smartphones over the last few months. When the latest handset is unveiled there is always loads of hype.

With the modern technology and applications consumers have now come to expect from an advanced smartphone, it incorporates features such as HTC Sense UI with FriendStream, impressive hardware and design, and the renowned Android OS.

Despite its list of specifications, the HTC Wildfire is surprisingly pocketing friendly.  Its dimensions are 106.8x 60.4x 12 mm whilst weighing in at a feather weight 118 g. So obviously, the HTC Wildfire is highly comfortable to hold and use when on the move.

Internet access is initially provided courtesy of 3G network coverage; however users can enjoy a faster connection via Wi-Fi.  When 3G coverage is called upon to access the Internet, it is via the form of HSDPA at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second.  Users can take advantage of a much faster connection to their favourite websites when Wi-Fi Technology detects a wireless Internet router and utilises its signals for an enhanced browsing experience. In order to connect to cellular networks in all but the most remote regions, EDGE and GPRS are utilised, both of which are class 10 versions. Both Bluetooth and micro USB connections mean users are able to connect to other devices whereby they can carry out a number of tasks.

As lots of users have come to expect from the manufacturer, an extensive list of technology and applications are all included straight from the box which increase the levels of functionality and versatility of the phone. The wealth of features means loads of different kinds of users are catered for, from social networkers, who are provided with Facebook, twitter and Flickr applications, to whilst music fans can listen to their music collection via the internal media player which accommodates several formats of music and video files such as MP3 and MP4.  In order to keep users entertained for hours on end, a stereo FM radio player and a selection of games are included.

Internal memory is provided in the shape of 384 megabytes of RAM along with 512 MB ROM.  Storage for music files, video clips and photos etc, is provides courtesy of a micro SD slot is located on the handset. This can be installed within a memory card of up to a whopping 32 GB.  This should prove to be sufficient for the needs of most users and offers heaps of storage space.

The 5 MP digital camera is an impressive piece of hardware which offers appeal for the budding photographer or simply those who enjoy to take spontaneous photos. A selection of different features are included which simplify the task of taking quality snapshots and video clips.  The resultant images and movies can be enjoyed on the large screen in superb quality and detail.

Whilst it may not be the most well known brand, the reputation of HTC is increasing steadily, and it already has an army of loyal followers. It is easy to see why with examples such as the HTC Wildfire, which ticks all the boxes.
