N96 – a special window to leisure and entertainment

Nokia N96 is another wonderful handset designed for the “N” series of Nokia. The main idea behind this invention of Nokia is to fully entertain its users. This design was unveiled by Nokia at a Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the year 2008. N96 has longer playback time of 6 hours and superior audio quality. The operating system used by N96 is the modified version of Symbian 9.3 which is more elegant and reliable as compared to the version 9.2.

N96 has brought about a revolution in the mobile media and can be referred as a multimedia computer which is truthfully optimized for TV and video. It offers superior quality videos in huge formats and supports internal memory of 16 GB with a bigger 2.8” screen. The handset has gained immense popularity which is clear from the fact that almost seven million sets have been sold till date.

Magnificent Video quality

The different video formats supported by N96 are MPEG-4, windows Media Video and flash videos. If WLAN and HSPDA support with USB 2.0 connection is established then it becomes very easier to access and transfer the video content. An automatic program guide is contained that supports live telecast on TV with DVB-H receiver.

Larger memory facility

The storage capacity of N96 is much more improved than previous handsets and can store 40 video contents in it. The phone carries an internal memory of 16 GB. The memory can also be further extended by using external MicroSD card like 8 GB MicroSDHC card MU 43 which can help user extend the memory up to 24 GB.

Integrated camera

N96 is equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera, video light, flash and Carl Zeiss optics. The video quality is superb and supports 30 frames to be captured per second. The handset supports integrated A-GPS which facilitates data transfer on online communities.

Other services

N96 comes with 3D stereo speakers, media keys and 3.5 mm headphone connector. It has Nokia Maps applications which facilitate richer maps with urban details and satellite vision which can also upgrade voice guided car navigations and city guides. 

Now-a- days Nokia has also released the advanced version of N96 named N96 firmware version 11.018 which is available for the general European product codes at the current time and the plans are being settled to make it available to rest of the world by Nokia.
