Adding a twist to their normal styling, Blackberry has released a rather unique looking smartphone called the Blackberry 9800 Torch. Utilising a combination of both touchscreen technology and a full physical QWERTY keyboard, it offers the best of both worlds.

Class 10 GPRS & EDGE provide the Blackberry Torch with its connection to cellular networks, with the internet relying on HSDPA and Wi-Fi. The former utilises 3G coverage for its internet access, whilst the Wi-Fi connection provides a faster browsing experience thanks to local wireless networks where available. In order to connect to compatible hardware devices such as computers and other phones, the Blackberry Torch utilises Bluetooth and micro USB connections allowing a range of tasks to be carried out such as backing up contact info and transferring media files.

 

A handy 5 megapixel camera is built into the back of the handset which does a great job of taking high quality still images. The pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 means the pictures look great on the screen, or when transferred to a computer for printing. A number of image enhancing features is included as standard, whilst the camera also boasts the ability to shoot video footage in VGA, as an alternative method of image capture.
