The Motorola Defy is a rugged new Smartphone which combines the advantages of full Android smartphone functionality with being both waterproof and dust proof. This makes it the perfect phone for people who work outdoors or live an active lifestyle that they require a phone which may be subjected to conditions which a normal phones may not be able to cope with.

The Motorola Defy is a relatively compact device at 107x 59x 13.4 mm and rather light weight of 118 g.  Up to 16 million individual colours can be displayed on the 3.7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen which has a pixel configuration of 480x 854.  This gives the screen the ability to display images in high quality with stunning clarity and detail.  The screen comes with touch-sensitive controls and multi touch input support as well as proximity and accelerometer sensors.

An impressive 5 mega pixel digital camera is located on the back of the handset.  This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels and comes with Autofocus, LED flash and image stabilisation to improve the quality of photos whilst simultaneously simplifying the task of taking them.  Users can also use this camera for shooting video footage and this is in very good quality VGA at 30 fps.  DLNA is provided so that users can stream their photos and videos to a compatible television where they can enjoy their handiwork in high definition on the big screen.

 

The Android OS (2.1, Eclair) is the software of choice for powering the MOTOBLUR UI. In conjunction with the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (800 MHz), a fantastic user experience is assured, with ample power to operate even demanding applications.
