Internet giants Google have recently released their latest Smartphone in the Nexus series. Whilst the first handset was made by HTC, this time around Google has opted for Samsung to produce the hardware for this impressive Android powered Smartphone.

The Google Nexus S relies on 3G coverage as its primary means of connecting to the Internet.  In this case, an HSDPA connection provides download speeds of 7.2 Mbps.  In order to gain a speedier connection to the web, users can take advantage of the built in Wi-Fi capabilities whenever they have access to the appropriate wireless networks in the local proximity.  Bluetooth and micro USB connections are included as standard allowing users to connect to compatible devices, whilst EDGE and GPRS keep the handset connected to the appropriate cellular networks on the move.

 

Of course, the Google Nexus S comes with a powerful built in digital camera.  This boasts 5 mega pixels and which operates at a pixel resolution of 2560x 1920, meaning the resulting images are of superb quality.  Auto-focus, an LED flash and touch focus are just some of the included features which, go a long way to simplifying the task of taking photos as well as improving the quality.  Another included feature of the camera is geo-tagging, which functions thanks to GPS.  This automatically records the location at which the camera was used.  As an alternative method of image capture, the camera boasts the ability to shoot high definition video footage, and this is in 720p quality.  Additionally, a VGA camera is also included and located on the front of the handset.  This allows users to carry out video calls and take portrait pictures.

 

The wildly popular Android OS is the operating system of choice, in this case the latest version for Smartphones, 2.3 (aka Gingerbread).  This allows user to customise many aspects of the HTC Sense user interface, and download additional applications from numerous different categories in the Android Market.  A 1 GHz processor is on hand to handle demanding applications for lightning fast user experience.
