The HTC Desire has proved to be one of the most popular handsets for the Smartphone manufacturer. The recently released black colour variant is now available, adding further aesthetic appeal to this already successful handset.

576 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM make up the internal memory of the HTC Desire Black.  This is further storage is required for data such as media files, and then V micro SD card slot can be utilised which comes equipped with a pre-installed for gigabytes memory card.  If further storage is required after this, it can be replaced with a memory card of up to 32 GB.

 

A number of different connectivity features are employed by the handset in order to provide it with the optimum levels of connectivity dependent upon area and network coverage.  In order to stay connected to cellular networks in all but the most isolated locations, class 10 versions of both GPRS & EDGE are utilised.  An Internet connection at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second is made available thanks to an HSDPA connection, in areas covered by 3G (along with HSUPA at 2 MB per second).  Thanks to the inclusion of Wi-Fi Technology, a faster Internet connection can be achieved.  This is whenever a signal is detected from a wireless Internet router, so users can surf the web at broadband speeds.  Connection to compatible hardware devices such as mobile phones and computers is made possible thanks to Bluetooth and micro USB connections respectively.

 

The HTC Desire Black utilises a long list of additional features and applications providing comprehensive everyday functionality, appealing to a wide range of different users.  These range from music fans and social networkers thanks to a versatile media player and applications offering direct access to popular sites such as Facebook and twitter.  The Android operating system, in this case v2.1 (Eclair), is employed to provide a fast and smooth user interface, and coupled with a powerful 1 GHz processor, handles demanding applications with ease.

 

The newfound aesthetic appeal of the black colour variant of the HTC Desire means its popularity looks set to continue, especially given its impressive list of specifications.
