512 MB ROM and 384 MB RAM are provided as standard within the handset, and there is an integrated microSD card slot.  This comes with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card which is capable of storing several music tracks or video files, however this can be replaced with a memory card of up to 32 GB.  Therefore users are able to store their entire digital music collection within their phone along with any other files they desire, be they video clips, documents or additional downloaded apps from the Android Market.

In order to carry out the phone calls and general messaging functions, the HTC Gratia relies on both EDGE and GPRS.  In areas where 3G coverage is available, users are able to surf the Internet at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second thanks to an HSDPA connection which operates alongside HSUPA.  A faster and more reliable Internet connection can be achieved thanks to the HTC Gratia boasting full Wi-Fi connectivity meaning users can take advantage of local wireless networks whenever they have the appropriate access.

The HTC Gratia is also a highly competent cameraphone boasting a 5 mega pixel offering.  This produces fantastic quality images thanks to its pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 and comes with auto-focus and face detection as standard.  Geo-tagging is also included which operates thanks to GPS, and keeps track of where the camera was used.  As an additional method of image capture, users can also shoot video using this camera.

Android 2.2 (Froyo) is the operating system of choice.  This utilises the HTC Sense user interface which is highly customisable and allows users to assign up to 7 individual homescreens.  Access to the Android Market allows users to browse thousands of apps from numerous categories which can be downloaded either for a fee or free of charge depending on the app.  This means the sky’s the limit in terms of functionality and customisation.

The HTC Gratia comes with a wealth of multimedia and productivity features as standard, and boasts an impressive level of functionality usually reserved for much more expensive smartphones.  If you’re looking for a compact Smartphone but don’t want to sacrifice its features, you can’t go far wrong with the HTC Gratia.
