The well respected manufacturer of Smartphones, HTC, has recently released a number of new handsets including the HTC HD mini. Providing the appealing combination of compact dimensions along with an extensive spec list, it is easy to see the appeal of this phone.

The HTC HD mini provides ample storage for data such as media files thanks to internal storage of 384 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM provided as standard.  A micro SD card slot is also provided for the same purpose which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB.  This should prove sufficient for the needs of most users as it is capable of storing an entire digital music collection and a large number of other files.

In order to stay connected on the move, a number of different connectivity features are utilised.  In order to stay connected to cellular networks, both EDGE & GPRS are provided in class 10 versions.  In areas covered by 3G, access to the Internet is provided courtesy of an HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second, along with HSUPA at 2 MB per second.  Wi-Fi Internet access is also provided to take advantage of the signals provided by wireless Internet routers allowing a faster Internet connection can be obtained.

 

The HTC HD mini comes equipped with a digital camera boasting five mega pixels.  This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels providing excellent quality still images.  Autofocus is also included along with touch focus in order to simplify the task of taking good quality photos.  The geo-tagging facility allows the location at which a photo was taken to be automatically recorded thanks to GPS.            The camera can also shoot video as an alternative method of image capture and this is in VGA quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.

 

Given its extensive list of features along with its appealing compact dimensions, HTC have come up trumps, with a handset that ticks all the boxes for those seeking a functional all rounder.
