The newly released HTC Wildfire provides many characteristics that one would associate with a handset from the manufacturer. These include key features such as touchscreen navigation, 5 mega pixel digital camera and the renowned Android Operating System.

The HTC wildfire features 384 MB of RAM as standard along with a micro SD card slot offering the potential to store up to 32 GB of data such as media files and documents.  The internal phonebook can store a seemingly unlimited number of entries and boasts the popular Photocall feature.  This allows a photo to be assigned to or contact in the phonebook,The HTC Wildfire Is An Appealing New Smartphone Articles and this in turn is displayed on the screen whenever that person calls or is called.

Connections to cellular networks are provided via class 10 versions of both EDGE and GPRS, which provides connections in all but the most isolated locations.  In areas covered by 3G, an HSDPA connection provides access to the Internet at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second, whilst the inclusion of Wi-Fi Technology allows a faster connection to be attained whenever it detects the signals provided by wireless Internet routers.  In order to connect to other compatible hardware devices such as mobile phones and computers, both Bluetooth and micro USB connections are provided as standard which allow users to carry out a number of tasks such as backing up contact information from the phonebook or managing media files.

As mentioned, the HTC Wildfire is equipped with a digital camera boasting five mega pixels which operates at a high pixel resolution.  The result of this is still photographs which are of very high quality and clarity.  To simplify the task of taking great quality photos, both smile detection and Autofocus features are included as part of the cameras software package along with an LED flash, so low lighting conditions need not pose a problem to taking decent pictures.  This camera can also shoot video as an alternative method of image capture.

A long list of features and applications offers versatility and appeal to an array of different mobile phone users.  In terms of entertainment, there is a versatile internal media player, a number of pre-installed games and a stereo FM radio player with RDS.  GPS with A-GPS support is provided which allows applications such as Google Maps, geo-tagging and a digital compass to function.  HTC have noticed a growing trend and social networking and included applications which allow integration with Facebook, Flickr and twitter to appeal to this demographic.  A voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input offer productivity features.

The 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen can display up to 16M colours thanks to a pixel layout of 240x 320 which provides excellent quality display of the on screen imagery.  Other features of the screen include an accelerometer sensor which automatically rotates the screen dependent upon the orientation of the phone, an optical trackpad which is an additional method of navigating onscreen menus and the use of touch sensitive controls.

The handset is available in black, brown, white and red colour variants offering aesthetic appeal to style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement.

The HTC Wildfire certainly ticks all the boxes in terms of functionality and aesthetic appeal, meaning its success looks assured.
