The Motorola Defy utilises several connectivity methods to stay connected to the optimum networks all times.  Class 12 versions of both GPRS and EDGE keep the Motorola Defy connected to the appropriate cellular networks in all but the most isolated regions.  In order to browse the Internet, an HSDPA connection provides download speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second in areas where 3G coverage is available.  An enhanced browsing experience can be achieved however, by utilising the Wi-Fi capabilities of the phone.  This is available whenever users have access to local wireless networks.  Additionally, the standard Bluetooth and micro USB connections are included which allow users to connect the handset to compatible hardware devices.

 

The Motorola Defy comes with a useful 5 mega-pixel digital camera which operates within a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 resulting in superb quality of the resulting photos.  Autofocus, image stabilisation and an LED flash are all included to improve the quality of the photos whilst simultaneously simplifying the task of taking them.  An additional method of image capture is provided in the form of VGA video capture at 30 frames per second.

 

Android 2.1 (Eclair) is the operating system of choice, however this is upgradeable to later versions.  An 800 MHz processor is on hand to provide the power to run demanding applications with ease and also keeps the interface running quickly and smoothly.  The Motorola Defy is packed with applications in numerous categories such as social networking integration, multimedia compatibility and even productivity tools for the workplace.
