Due for release later this month, the exciting new Motorola FlipOut boasts a number of impressive features. Ranging from a digital camera, unique five row QWERTY keyboard and Wi-Fi Internet access, this new Smartphone also utilises the renowned Android operating system (v2.1).

The Motorola FlipOut boasts the ability to display up to 256K colours within a pixel layout of 320x 240 pixels on its 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen.  This results in good quality display of on screen imagery and the user interface,The Motorola Flipout Combines A Number Of Technologies Articles making it perfect for viewing photos and video files.  As well as utilising a touchscreen, the FlipOut also boasts a unique keyboard which “flips” from behind the screen hence its name and offers an efficient means of text entry and appeals to those who prefer the use of a physical keyboard over a touch screen.

In order to store data such as media files and documents, the Motorola FlipOut comes with 256 MB RAM as standard and also utilises an integrated micro SD card slot.  The latter comes with a pre-installed 2 GB card; however this can be upgraded by installing a memory card of up to 32 GB offering the potential for adequate storage for the needs of most users.  The internal phonebook can store a seemingly endless number of contacts and also boasts the popular Photocall feature.

Access to the Internet is provided initially via 3G coverage, whereby an HSDPA connection is available at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second (alongside HSUPA at 2 MB per second).  A faster Internet connection can be attained thanks to integrated Wi-Fi Technology which detects the signals provided by wireless Internet routers, and when it ticks these out it utilises them to provide an Internet connection at up to broadband speeds.

For taking quality snapshots, the Motorola FlipOut has a 3.15 mega pixel digital camera built in, which operates at a reasonably high pixel resolution resulting in quality snapshots.  As you may expect, this camera can also shoot video as an alternative method of image capture.

Along with models such as the Backflip, the Motorola FlipOut boasts unique styling and which makes the handset instantly recognisable face.  It is square in appearance, measuring 67x 67mm.  Its dimensions, along with its light weight of 120 g make it pocket friendly and comfortable to use with two hands when using the keyboard, or one hand when using the touch screen.  Upon its release in June 2010, Motorola plan to make the FlipOut available in a range of refreshing colour variants including white, fair way green, poppy red, raspberry crush, brilliant blue, licorice and saffron.

A number of different users are catered for thanks to a variety of the built in features and applications.  These include impressive entertainment functions such as a media player, stereo FM radio player and tilting games along with social networking applications and integration with apps offering direct access to sites such as Facebook, MySpace and twitter.  For productivity tasks, a voice memo recorder, document viewer and a handy organiser are all included.

On paper, the Motorola FlipOut looks sure to be a success upon its upcoming release given its unique styling and long list of specifications with the added bonus of the Android OS.
