Yet another release from mobile phone giant Nokia, the C5 offers high levels of functionality and impressive features are encased within an understated handset. As a first glance the handset does not appear to be anything special which are sure to appeal to some users. However, one look at the spec list and it is clear that the C5 ticks all the boxes in terms of functionality.

GPRS & EDGE are both provided in class 32 versions in order to keep the Nokia C5 connected to cellular networks in all but the most remote areas.  A fast Internet connection is available in areas covered by 3G, thanks to an HSDPA connection which provides access to the Internet at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second (alongside HSUPA connectivity at 2 MB per second).  Bluetooth is installed as standard which allows the handset to connect to other compatible phones in the same vicinity so a number of tasks can be carried out ranging from sharing music tracks or swapping contact information etc.  Similar tasks can also be carried out thanks to a micro USB connection which allows the handset to be connected directly to a computer in order to carry out tasks such as backing up phonebook information and managing media files.

 

An impressively extensive list of extra features and applications actually make the C51 of Nokia as most versatile handsets to date.  In terms of entertainment, a versatile media player supports several different formats of both music and video files.  Additionally, a stereo FM radio player is provided as well as a number of pre-installed games (along with access to a library of downloadable games).  Social networkers are well catered for with applications offering direct access to popular sites such as Facebook and MySpace.  For productivity purposes, document viewer, organiser and a voice memo recorder are all provided.

 

For storage of data such as media files, 50 MB of internal storage is provided along with 128 MB RAM.  The micro SD slot comes with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card, however this can be increased by installing a memory card of up to 16 GB should further storage be required.

 

The Nokia C5 is a relatively compact handset measuring just 112x 46x 12.3 mm and weighs in at just 89.3 g.  This makes it a pocket friendly handset which is also comfortable to hold and use on the move.

 

The Nokia C5 offers appeal to a range of different users thanks to its versatile applications.  Therefore it has something to offer every one ranging from business users to music fans.
