With the number of new handsets Nokia have just released, the E5 is certainly one of the more impressive ones. Whilst it may not feature touch screen navigation, it certainly ticks all the boxes to keep tech savvy users happy.

The Nokia E5 features a built in digital camera boasting 3.15 mega pixels,The Nokia E5 Provides A Wide Array Of Appeal Articles which operates at a pixel resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. This also includes an LED flash, so lower lighting conditions do not mean a wasted photo opportunity. The quality of the photos this camera can take is reasonably high, so budding photographers are sure to be pleased. 50 MB of internal memory is provided (with 128 MB RAM) for storage of data such as media files and contact info. A micro SD slot is provided for the same purpose, with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card. This can be upgraded, however by installing a larger memory card of up to 16 GB. This is sufficient to store a large digital music collection or a number of video clips and digital photos.  The internal phonebook can store a large number of contacts and provides the popular photocall feature.

 

Class 32 versions of EDGE & GPRS are relied upon to connect the E5 to its cellular networks. In areas covered by 3G, an internet connection is available at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second, thanks to HSDPA (alongside HSUPA at 2 mega bytes per second).  Bluetooth version 2.0 allows the handset to be connected to other compatible phones in the same vicinity to carry out tasks such as sharing media files. Micro USB allows the E5 to be directly connected to a computer to carry out similar tasks.

 

The TFT screen measures 2.2 inches. This can display up to 16M colours within its pixel setup of 240x320, providing a high level of on screen display quality.

 

As well as a versatile media player, the Nokia E5 also provides a stereo FM radio player and a range of pre-installed and downloadable games to keep users entertained for hours on end.  Social networkers are well catered for with dedicated applications allowing direct access to sites such as Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and MySpace. This allows users to stay in contact with friends and family and share their thoughts with the world. A document viewer is a handy addition which may appeal to business users.

 

The dimensions of the Nokia are 112x46x12.3mm. Its pocket friendly size and light weight of just 89.3 grams make it comfortable to hold and use on the move.

 

The alert types available in the Nokia E5 are vibration and ringing, with the option to assign MP3 music files as ringtones. Users who take advantage of this feature have the opportunity to customise their phone, and by doing so can hear the song of their choice any time the phone rings.

 

The Nokia E5 is a very versatile handset, and whilst its classic styling may suggest otherwise, this is sure to appeal to certain users.
