The Nokia N8 is an exceptional new smartphone with a great deal of emphasis placed upon its camera. It is certainly the main selling point of this particular handset, and is arguably the most advanced cameraphone on the market.

The Nokia N8 does offer a lot more than just an impressive camera though.

 

The handset packs an impressive 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen for navigating the Symbian^3 user interface. This is highly responsive and allows users to easily glide through the UI and carry out numerous tasks. It also does a great job of displaying images and videos thanks to a pixel configuration of 360x 640. This can display a whopping 16 million colours resulting in fantastic display quality. Handsfree conversations are simple to carry out thanks to the built in speakerphone system and a 3.5mm audio jack which can be used with either dedicated handsfree accessories, or earphones for listening to music.

 

The Nokia N8 comes with a generous level of internal storage. A capacity of 16GB means users can potentially store thousands of music tracks, video clips, or any of the numerous file formats with which the N8 is compatible. If required, users can even install an additional 32GB of storage by utilising the microSD slot.

 

The Nokia N8 is the ideal phone for staying connected on the move to cellular networks and the internet. GPRS and EDGE are provided along with an HSDPA connection to provide internet access in areas with 3G coverage. In order to gain a faster connection, users can also use Wi-Fi whenever they have access to local wireless router networks. This allows the HTML browser to really shine along with the 680MHz processor for fast loading times and a great browsing experience. As you may expect from such a high calibre smartphone, the usual micro USB and Bluetooth connections are also provided, further adding to its versatility.

 

A stunning 12 megapixel camera is on hand to snap astonishingly high quality still images. Thanks to the whopping pixel resolution of 4000x 3000 and the presence of Carl Zeiss optics, the resulting photos boast incredible clarity and detail. Once an image has been taken, it can be edited thanks to the built in software package which comes with a number of editing tools. It is also easy to take the pictures thanks to autofocus, face detection and a Xenon flash, meaning that poor lighting conditions are no problem. As if all of this wasn’t enough the camera also boasts the ability to shoot HD video in 720p quality. Once you have taken and edited your masterpiece, you can enjoy it on the big screen thanks to a TV-out  socket.

 

There is so much to love about the N8. It is also available in a range of vibrant colours, adding to its aesthetic appeal. Its spec list and wealth of innovative features means the Nokia N8 thoroughly deserves its spot as the manufacturer’s flagship smartphone.
