Nokia’s extensive range has once again been added to with the new X6. This stylish handset offers an impressive specification list with an emphasis on media playback, thanks to a versatile media player, 32 GB of internal storage and stereo speakers.

Its angular lines and razor thin profile make it a timeless device that will be considered stylish for many years to come. The dimensions are 111x51x13.8mm and it weighs just 122 grams. As mentioned, the X6 has an array of entertainment features. The media player supports a whole host of different music and video file formats. A selection of pre-installed games (along with access to a library of downloadable games) and a stereo FM radio player are also included to keep users entertained for hours on end. An organiser, voice command/dial and T9 predictive text input all add to the everyday functionality of the handset.

 

The 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen displays up to 16M colours within a pixel setup of 360x640 pixels, for excellent quality display of on screen content. The screen is manufactured from scratch resistant materials, and features an auto rotate function courtesy of the inbuilt accelerometer sensor.

 

A range of different connectivity features are utilised by the Nokia X6 in order to connect to the internet and cellular networks. Class 32 EDGE and class 32 GPRS are responsible for the X6 connecting to cellular networks in all but the most isolated areas. HSPDA provides a fast internet connection at speeds of up to 3.6 mega bytes per second in areas covered by 3G. Wi-Fi enables a faster internet connection to be made possible, by utilising the signal provided by wireless internet routers. Bluetooth and USB connections are both utilised to connect to compatible phones and computers in order to carry out a variety of tasks.

 

The digital camera built into the Nokia X6 boasts 5 mega pixels, so budding photographers can take good quality snapshots with the minimum of fuss. It includes a selection of image enhancing features within the camera’s software package, such as autofocus and LED flash. It also has the ability to shoot video, and this is in VGA quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.

 

Vibration, MP3 ringtones and downloadable polyphonic ringtones are the available alert types with the Nokia X6, allowing users to customise their handset by assigning their favourite music track as the ringtone.

 

For storage of data such as media files, a whopping 32 GB of internal storage is provided as standard. Whilst a micro SD slot is not included, there is simply no need for one with this much standard storage space.

 

Its futuristic styling, impressive hardware and software, and ability to store a large number of files means the Nokia X6 ticks all the right boxes for a number of demographics in the mobile phone market.
