The Samsung Galaxy S Giorgio Armani has recently been released and has proven to be a hit with fashion conscious users who don’t want to sacrifice features to own a head turning Smartphone.

The handset measures 122.5x 64.2x 9.9 mm making it one of the slimmest handsets around, and is also very lightweight at just 123 g.  The front of the handset is dominated by the large 4 inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which boasts a pixel resolution of 480x 800 in which up to 16,000,000 individual colours can be displayed.  This results in fantastic display quality of the on screen imagery.  The screen itself is manufactured from gorilla glass which protects it from everyday wear and tear.  It supports multi-touch input and comes with proximity and accelerometer sensors as standard along with a touch-sensitive shortcut panel, common to most android handsets.  It also supports Swype text input which can greatly reduce the time it takes to enter text.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S Giorgio Armani comes with a generous 16 GB internal storage as standard.  This should prove sufficient for most users to store their digital music collection or video clips, documents or additional downloaded apps from the Android Market.  On the rare occasion that further storage should be required, there is an integrated microSD slot which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB, meaning that users can potentially have 48 GB of storage at their disposal.

 

Several different connectivity features are utilised to provide the Samsung Galaxy S Giorgio Armani with its optimum levels of connectivity.  Both GPRS and EDGE keep the handset connected to the appropriate cellular networks in all but the most isolated regions.  HSDPA works alongside HSUPA to provide the primary means of Internet connection in areas where 3G coverage is available.  A faster connection can be achieved however, thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity which allows users to take advantage local wireless networks.  Bluetooth and micro USB are included as standard to connect the handset to compatible hardware devices whilst GPS is also included which allows functions such as a digital compass and geo-tagging to operate.  The handset can even be wirelessly connected to compatible televisions via DLNA which allows users to stream content from their phone to the TV.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S Giorgio Armani is a competent cameraphone boasting a 5 mega pixel digital camera which operates at 2592x 1944 pixels resulting in stunning quality still images.  The camera comes with auto-focus, touch-focus and face & smile detection as well as geo-tagging which keeps track of where the camera was used.  As an alternative means of image capture, the camera can also be used to shoot video footage and this is in 720p quality and comes with continuous Autofocus.

 

Android 2.2 (Froyo) is the operating system of choice and this provides a versatile and easy to use interface.  It also allows users to access the Android Market where they can download apps of which there are thousands to choose from.  A 1 GHz processor is on hand to provide the power to run demanding applications as well as keep the interface fast and smooth.  Numerous standard applications are included from many different categories.  There are several social networking features as well as multimedia and entertainment and productivity tools.
