Samsung has recently announced the upcoming release of one of its most technologically advanced handsets to date. The Samsung i9000 Galaxy S boasts a number of impressive features ranging from a highly advanced touch screen, five mega pixel digital camera and access to the Internet via Wi-Fi and 3G.

The everyday functionality of the Samsung Galaxy S is impressive thanks to a selection of features and applications.  These range from a versatile internal media player along with a stereo FM radio player and a selection of pre-installed games are keeping users entertained.  Access to several popular websites is included via dedicated applications such as YouTube,The Samsung Galaxy S Is An Appealing All Rounder Articles Google talk and Picasa.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S provides either 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage depending on the model.  So even the basic model offers plenty of storage for data such as music tracks or video clips etc.  Should further storage be required however, the micro SD slot can be utilised by installing a memory card of up to 32 GB.  The internal phonebook can store a seemingly endless number of entries and fields and also includes the Photocall feature.  This allows a photo to be assigned to each contact within the phonebook which is in turn displayed on screen whenever that person calls.

 

Several different methods of connectivity are employed in order to keep the handset connected at optimum levels dependent upon location and coverage.  In order to connect to cellular networks, class 12 versions of both EDGE and GPRS are utilised.  To connect to the Internet, a HSDPA connection is provided at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second with HSUPA at 5.76 mega bytes per second.  Whenever a signal is detected from a wireless Internet router, Wi-Fi Technology kicks in providing a faster connection and therefore enhanced browsing experience.  In order to connect to other hardware, both micro USB and Bluetooth connections are provided allowing a range of tasks to be carried out.

 

The digital camera can shoot video in 720p quality at 30 frames per second resulting in high quality footage.  Still images are snapped in five mega pixels at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels.  In order to simplify the task of taking great quality photos a number of image enhancing features are included such as Autofocus, touch focus and face & smile detection.

 

The super impressive touch screen measures 4 inches and utilises super AMOLED capacitive technology to navigate the user interface.  The screen also offers stunning display quality thanks to a pixel layout of 480x 800 displaying up to 16M colours for unparalleled, clarity and detail of on screen imagery.

 

The size of the screen means that the Samsung Galaxy S is not the smallest phone in the world, however it is extremely light weight at just 118 g and slimline at 9.9 mm making it a pocket friendly handset which is also comfortable to hold and use on the move.

 

The combination of aesthetic appeal and advanced technology is always a winner and Samsung have hit the nail on the head with this handset meaning it is sure to prove popular upon its upcoming release.
