Samsung has recently announced the release of one of their most advanced touch screen phones to date. The i9000 Galaxy S boasts many impressive key features ranging from the 4 inch touch screen, heaps of internal storage, a five mega pixel digital camera and Wi-Fi Internet access.

The 4 inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen boasts the ability to display up to 16,000,000 colours within a pixel layout of 480x 800 pixels resulting in superb clarity and detail of on screen imagery making it perfect for viewing photos and video files.  The screen features an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate of the user interface allowing it to be viewed in both portrait and landscape forms.

Depending upon which model is purchased; either 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage is provided as standard.  Either one provides excellent levels of storage of data such as music tracks, video clips or photos etc.  Should further storage be required however, the micro SD slot is also provided for this purpose which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB.  The internal phonebook can store a seemingly endless number of contacts and boasts the popular Photocall feature which allows a photo to be assigned to a particular contact within the phonebook and this in turn is displayed on screen whenever that person is in touch.

A long list of additional features makes the Samsung Galaxy S a very versatile handset for everyday use and offers appeal to a wide range of different users.  Internal media player is very versatile and supports most of the common formats of both music and video files.  A stereo FM radio player and a number of pre-installed games add to the entertainment options.  A document viewer and direct access to popular websites such as Google offer convenient productivity tools.

The five mega pixel camera operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x as 1944 pixels resulting in excellent quality photographs.  A number of image enhancing features such as Autofocus, touch focus, and face & smile detection are included to simplify the task of taking great quality photos.  The camera can also shoot video footage in high definition at 720p quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.

Samsung has a reputation for producing high quality touch screen handsets and with the addition of the Android Operating System, the Samsung i9000 Galaxy S looks set to be a winner.
