The recently released Samsung S8500 Wave has been an eagerly anticipated device. Promising a number of firsts from the manufacturer, the Samsung Wave boasts video recording in 720p quality along with other impressive features such as super AMOLED capacitive touch screen technology.

The dimensions of the Samsung Wave are 118x 56x 10.9 mm making it perfectly sized for comfort of use whilst its slimline profile and light weight of just 118 g makes it a pocket friendly handset.  Appearance wise, it is an attractive handset so is sure to appeal to style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement.

 

Vibration and ringing are the primary methods of alerting users to incoming calls and messages.  MP3 files can also be assigned as ringtones in order to allow users to customise their phone so that they can hear the song of their choice every time the phone rings.  In order to achieve effective handsfree talking, both a 3.5 mm audio Jack and a speakerphone system are installed in the handset.

 

The super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen measures 3.3 inches.  As well as providing a dynamic and effective means of navigating the Bada operating system user interface, it also serves to display high quality imagery with a up to 16M within a pixel setup of 480x 800.

 

Internal memory is either 2 GB or 8 GB dependent upon model.  This offers a good deal of storage for data such as media files, however further storage can be attained if necessary by employing the micro SD slot and installing a memory card of up to 32 GB.

 

A good number of additional features such as a versatile media player, Google maps and a number of pre-installed games all serve to carry out various functions.
