Due for release very shortly, the Samsung Wave is a super stylish new phone. It boasts a range of key features which give it excellent everyday functionality. With touch screen navigation and an impressive camera, the Wave looks set to be a popular handset.

The Samsung S8500 Wave provides internet connection through both 3G coverage and Wi-Fi. A radio player and a selection of pre-installed (along with access to a library of downloadable games) games offer alternative entertainment options.  MP3 files can be utilised as ringtones, so users can hear the song of their choice whenever the phone rings.

 

The Super AMOLED touch screen measures 3.3 inches. As well as providing the means to navigate the Bada OS user interface, it also provides excellent display quality, displaying up to 16M colours within a pixel layout of 480x800 pixels. As well as being made from scratch resistant materials, the screen also features an accelerometer sensor, multi-touch input method and handwriting recognition.

 

The internal phonebook can store a large number of contacts and features the Photocall facility. This allows a photo to be assigned to each contact and is in turn displayed on the screen whenever that person calls. Internal memory is 2GB/8GB which allows a good amount of storage for data such as media files and other data. A micro SD slot can also be utilised for this purpose should further storage be required. This can accommodate a memory card of up to a whopping 32 GB.

 

The built in camera boasts 5 MP so the quality of the photos is very high. It operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x1944 pixels, and includes a long list of features such as autofocus, LED flash, and face, smile and blink detection. It can also shoot video in 720p quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.

 

Samsung look to be on to a winner with the S8500 Wave. Given its long list of features and its slimline design, it looks set to be a popular handset.
