The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Offers All Round Appeal

 Sony Ericsson has recently been busy with a number of new Smartphone releases.  Amongst them is the Sony Ericsson the XPERIA X10 Mini.  As the name suggests, this is a compact handset yet boasts an impressive array of features and utilises the renowned Android operating system.


In order to display high quality on screen imagery, a pixel setup of 240x 320 is utilised to display up to 16M colours on the 2.55 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen.  The screen is manufactured from scratch-resistant materials protecting it from everyday wear and tear and features an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate of the user interface.


128 MB of internal storage is provided as standard along with a micro SD slot with a pre-installed 2 GB memory card.  Should further storage be required, a larger memory card can be installed within the SD slot of up to 16 GB.  This will provide ample storage for the needs of most users as it is capable of storing a large digital music collection along with a number of other files.  The internal phonebook boasts the popular Photocall feature and can store a seemingly endless number of entries and fields.


An impressive five mega pixel digital camera operates at a pixel resolution of 2560x 1920 pixels offering excellent quality still images.  Autofocus and an LED flash provide image enhancing features for taking quality photos even in low lighting conditions.  The popular geo-tagging facility is also included which automatically records the location at which a photo was taken thanks to GPS.  Of course, the camera can also shoot video and this is in VGA quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.


An impressive list of features keeps a whole range of different users entertained and productive, ranging from a versatile internal media player, to direct access to a number of popular websites including YouTube and Google.  A document viewer is sure to appeal to business users so they can remain productive when out of the office, as well as a voice memo recorder.  The Sony Ericsson the XPERIA X10 Mini is available in a range of colours such as pearl white, black, pink, lime, red and silver adding aesthetic appeal to the functionality of the handset.


As the name suggests, this is a compact handset measuring just 83x 50x 16 mm and weighs in at just 88 g making it a pocket friendly handset which is ideally proportioned for comfort of use on the move.


In order to stay connected to both cellular networks and the Internet, a number of different connectivity methods are utilised.  Cellular networks are connected to thanks to class 10 versions of both GPRS & EDGE.  Connection to the Internet is via both 3G coverage and Wi-Fi.  In areas covered by 3G, access to the Internet is provided courtesy of both HSDPA and HSUPA.  Wi-Fi connectivity provides a faster Internet connection whenever a signal is detected from a wireless Internet router.
