Step 1 - Navigate to the ‘Cash on Delivery’ Section

  •         Select Stores from the sidebar and choose Settings > Configuration
  •         Select sales on the left panel. Click Payment Methods and choose Cash on Delivery

Step 2 - Fill the Cash on Delivery Section

  •         If it isn’t activated already, select Yes next to the Enable option to enable cash on delivery payment.
  •         Admin can rename this payment option to make it easier for customers to understand it easily during the checkout process. Decide the new name and enter it in the Title section. You can also keep the default name.
  •         Activate Pending option in ‘New Order Status” section
  •         As mentioned before, you can select the countries you’d like to enable the Cash on Delivery Payment method for. Under the “Payment From Applicable Countries” header, set the countries that qualify for Cash on Delivery Payment. You can also select all countries if you offer global product delivery services. If you want the payment method to be applicable for only some specific countries, you could select the name from the countries list. The Cash on Delivery Payment will be activated for the selected regions.
  •         You can also fill the Instruction section to provide guidance to your customers.
  •         Admin can set the minimum and maximum amount on orders that are needed for Cash on Delivery method. Check out the maximum and minimum order total section and set the qualifying order. Only the orders that meet the minimum order value and are below the maximum order will qualify for cash on delivery method.
  •         Select the position where you would like the Cash on Delivery payment option to be displayed during the checkout process. You can change this setting in the Sort Order section. Basically, there are a number of payment options displayed on your customer’s screen during checkout. So, you can choose to display the Cash on Delivery Payment wherever you want.

Step 3 - Save the Configuration Settings

Remember to save all the changes you have made in the Cash on Delivery configuration page. Right on the upper left corner of the screen, you will see the 'Save Configuration' option. Once you are done with the changes, click this option to save the configuration.
