These threads are of various colors and fabric like resham, cotton, silk, polyester, silver, gold etc. The machine embroidery although has limitation but it looks much better than that with hand embroidered Salwar Kameez.

The fabric used in a cloth can vary from cotton to silk, from crepes to georgettes and from satins to chiffons. A lot of work is also involved in the embroidery like work with sequins; chikon-kari, kalam- kari work, etc are quite popular among the people. Other embroidery work with zardosi, beadwork, block print and rubber print are also popular among the Indian Ladies.
