A road accident

General Description.

          Road accident is an unhappy event which occurs on road. Most of the drivers don not follow traffic rules. Some of them show inflexibility and stubbornness in attitude. They do not give way to others. Moreover, over speeding and unnecessary over taking is also the main reason of these road accidents. Some time, it brings a lot of destruction to us. If we follow traffic rules and bring flexibility in our attitude, then we can take control over road accidents.

Preparation for Journey.

          A few days back I have decided to visit my uncle's home at Karachi. I packed some of my dresses and other necessary items. I reached the bus-stand and boarded a bus. After a little while the bus started and we were on our way to Karachi. Some ten kilometers from Sargodha our driver was overtaking another bus. Suddenly a rickshaw appeared in front of our bus. It had come from a by-path and was crossing the main road. The rickshaw driver tried to stop but the break did not work properly. Our driver cursed aloud in shrieking voice. All the passengers were afraid and altered at once.

Occurrence of Road Accident.

          The bus was in full speed. It would have been a head-on collision with the rickshaw but our driver did not lose his wits. The driver turned the steering wheel to the right and applied the brakes. The bus went off the road and struck against a tree. There was a great hue and cry among the passengers, some of whom had been hurt. One of them received serious injuries and fell unconscious. I was luckily unhurt. We were fortunate as the bus had not over-turned.

          It was a busy road. In the meanwhile another bus appeared. The driver bus had stopped his bus and requested passengers to help the people. Its passengers ran to our bus and helped us come out of it. The man who had received serious injuries was given First Aid treatment. They called ambulance service for his evacuation to nearest hospital for further medical treatment. Then the injured person was taken to Lahore. Our driver had also received some injuries but not of serious nature. Most of us were unhurt. We tended the persons who had received minor injuries, but there was nothing to worry about them.

Launching of FIR

          After some time a police party arrived there. The head of the party took statements of the driver and some of the passengers. In the meantime, the driver made communication with his company and told them about the road accident. The company assured him for provision of another bus. We wait for some time there. After an hour, a bus of the same company arrived from Lahore. We boarded that bus and reached Lahore.

Conclusion

          It has been observed that most of the people are not abide by traffic rules nor adopting precautionary measures. We have also observed that most of road accidents occurs due to violation of traffic rules and not adopting precautionary measure. We must abide by these rules in order to enjoy safe journey.
