The alma mater of the great Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Surendranath College was established in

Kolkata in 1884. For a major part of its history, it was called Ripon College named for the

British Viceroy Lord Ripon, named for the British Viceroy Lord Ripon but later it was

renamed after its founder Sir Surendranath Banerjee. It is a college that has existed since

the time of the British rule. The college boasts of an eventful background and a very

promising future. It is one of the premier colleges and sought after institutes of the

The College has a sophisticated infrastructure and is well maintained even though its campus

is 125 years old. It is a state of the art college with high tech conference halls
