JEE Main didn’t go well? Aim for BITSAT 2016

JEE Main was concluded on 10th April, 2016. Aspirants who could not perform well in the exam need not get demotivated and must aim for BITSAT 2016.

This time Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main was conducted on 3rd,JEE Main didn’t go well? Aim for BITSAT 2016 Articles 9thand 10th April, 2016. First the pen and paper based exam was held, followed by the computer based exam for two days.

Lakhs of engineering aspirants appeared for the exam as it dictates admission to the NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Moreover it also governs admission to the IITs and ISM Dhanbad as only the top 1.5 rank holders of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced which forms the admission criteria of the premier institutes.

Most of the aspirants found the exam to be moderate. Out of all the sections, Mathematics was the toughest as it was lengthy.  Those who could not perform well in the exam needn’t be disheartened and can aim for the next big exam – BITSAT 2016.

BITSAT is the entrance examination conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani to carry out admissions to undergraduate programs offered by BITS  Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

If a candidate had prepared well for JEE Main, clearing BITSAT should not be tough. As per previous trends BITSAT’S level of difficulty is lower than that of JEE Main. This is because most of the questions are based on class XII syllabus.

Here are some tips to ace the exam:

1) Going through NCERT text books and understanding all the concepts properly is most recommended, especially for Chemistry. Along with NCERT books some additional books are also suggested by academicians. These are The Pearson Complete Guide to the BITSAT (English) by One Learn Education, Comprehensive Guide to BITSAT Online Test – with Mosk Test CD (English) by Disha Experts and Practice Papers BITSAT 2015 PB 8th Edition by G K P.

2) BITSAT paper comprises of 150 questions that have to be solved in 3 hours. Speed and accuracy are the important aspects of acing the exam. One should be thorough with all the important formulae to avoid the lag in solving questions.

3) Try to attempt easy questions first in the exam – the ones that that take the least time to solve. When more number of questions are solved initially, one feels confident as the exam progresses.
