Learning to be a knight This is how one would become a Knight in the 15th century. In every castle were a number of boys of noble birth who were learning to be Knights. Until he was fourteen years of age, a boy served as a page. There was much for him to learn. One of the ladies of the castle had particular charge over each page. She told him stories of the saints and brave knights. She taught him good manners and the rules of knighthood. Perhaps she taught him to dance and play the lute.
