Julia Fiona Roberts was born October 28th, 1967. She was born in Smyrna, Georgia to father Walter Grady Roberts and to mother Betty Lou Bredemus. Her father sold vacuum cleaners and her mother was a real estate agent. They both met when they performed on stage together. As a young girl, Roberts dreamed of being a veterinarian. After graduation high school, she attended Georgia State University before traveling to New York City to act.
Early in her movie making career, Roberts starred in the romantic comedy box office hit Pretty Woman. Her role in Pretty woman launched her career and she made several movies since then. After pretty woman she would go on star in Sleeping With the Enemy. In 1996 she starred along side Denzel Washington in the thriller The Pelican Brief. Her next big hit would be in 1997 in My Best Friend's Wedding. From 2002-2005 she was the top earning female star. In 2001, she won the academy award for best female for he role as Erin Brockovich. She would go on to make three more films with Erin Brockovich' director Steven Soderbergh including Full Frontal, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen. In total her career has grossed over two billion dollars.
During her career she dated several actors including Matthew Perry, Kiefer Sutherland and Daniel-Day Lewis. She met cameraman Danny Moder on the set of The Mexican.
When the two met, Moder was married but he soon divorced his wife to continue his relationship with Roberts. In 2004, she gave birth to fraternal twins Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter. The have another baby on the way, expected to come during the Summer of 2007. She has donated millions of dollars to UNICEF and narrated a documentary called "Silent Angels" hoping to raise awareness of Retts Disease.
