Carol Ann Susi, the voice of the huge Jewish mother of Howard Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory, passed last week of cancer in Los Angeles at the age of 62. To pay tribute to her, the end credit of one of the episodes read: ‘In loving memory of Carol Ann Susi ‘Mrs. Wolowitz’. Every time you spoke, we laughed. You’re in our hearts forever.’
As of now the producers are not sure how they are going to proceed with the character. Earlier, Chuck Lorre finally intended to display Howard's mother on screen, and there has even been an actress selected to portray her. However, the time went by, and the fans of the Big Bang still didn’t have a chance to see her.
Kaley Cuoco (‘Penny’) wrote on her Facebook page: “Rest in peace hilarious, adorable, sweet Carol Ann Susi. You will be a part of the Big Bang Theory family forever”. “So grateful to have known Carol Ann Susi, who brought laughter and light with her always. She'll forever be in my heart”, tweeted Melissa Rauch (“Bernadette”). Other actors of the cast joined as well, saying that Carol Ann has always been a ‘source of joy and kindness’.
Carol Ann Susi was born on February 2, 1952 in Brooklyn. She studied acting at HB Studio and then moved to Los Angeles.
