How will you keep yourself motivated to run as often as you can?” This article aims to help you get in the right direction. Behind every successful program are its key principles. To begin with, let me present to you the 6 key principles to help your running program a success story.

6 Key Principles of Running

  1. Start As Early As Today
Whenever we are planning to do something, procrastination gets in the way leading us nowhere. Today is always the first day for us to be better so might as well start running today. If not today, you might never start tomorrow or ever. Like others, you will have tons of reasons; you are busy, too tired to run, you have kids to look after or you have other important matters to attend to. These excuses won't help you to get started so forget them for a while.
  2. You Are Once A Kid
As you grow old, you maybe think you no longer know how to run. Remember, you first learn how to run when you were just a kid. Unless you are suffering from a serious health condition, you know and you can still run. You might not get that far but that's okay.
  3. Everyone Can Run
Regardless of your size, age or status in the society, there is no limitation to who can run. Others think they are too old or too overweight to start running. However, you can start with simple steps, then begin walking and soon, you will find yourself running happily and freely. Your running program is a progressive program so take things easily. One step at a time.
  4. Running Is Simple
It is the most ancient, simplest and cheapest form of exercise we know. You do not have to stress yourself too much about running. You can start your program at 30 minutes per day. Gradually, you will find yourself running longer and farther.
  5. Eat Properly
Following your program is just half of the game. The other half comprised of a healthy diet. These two should come together to achieve your goal. Various studies have established that those who are successful in their running programs are also successful in enhancing their diets. Runners do not require special diet but basically, they can eat the usual food that everyone eats. Of course, there should be plenty of fruits and vegetable included in the diet.
  6. Say No To Speed Trap
Beginners tend to fall at the onset of their running programs because they go too fast and beyond their limits. Take it easy. There's no need to be in a hurry. Relax and be satisfied while enjoying your own pace.
