Need some new ideas?  Welcome to the club!  Sometimes dad is just plain tough to find the right gift for,Birthday Presents for Dad - Keep Him Healthy This Year. Articles but it doesn't need to be that way. Birthdays are often reminders that another year has passed and that there are things we've been wanting to get around to.  No other time of year, other than New Years, makes us reflect so much on our lives and things we haven't gotten to like getting in shape, losing that weight, finally sticking to the diet the doc put us on, going white-water rafting, perfecting cooking those ribs on the grill.  There are probably scads of things your dad has been wanting to get to that he just needs a little push to get him started.  Has your dad has been complaining about not having the time to get to the gym or about that extra weight he's put on or that he really, really needs to get in shape and this time he means it?  Give him the help he needs with some home workout equipment.  A treadmill or universal gym could be birthday gift ideas for dad from the whole family.  If those are too intimidating or over your budget how about a set of hand weights or chin-up bar and a DVD geared towards working out with them?  Something manly, no ladies in leotards dancing around!  Walking is a low-impact, joint-friendly way to get in shape and shed some pounds.  Get dad a pedometer so he can track his mileage.  Having a gadget to keep track of his distance will have those steps turning into miles as he watches them add up.  Does he have an ipod to help put a bounce in his step?  Fill it up with some tunes for him that will keep him going.  If dietary restrictions have become part of your dad's life get him some treats that he can really enjoy.  Dietary restrictions often make us think of the things we can't have instead of the things we can.  Try a gift basket of goodies that are on his "do eat" list.  You'll both be surprised.  Gift baskets aren't just limited to fruit and cheese anymore.  They come in just about every combination you can think of; low carb, low sodium, heart healthy, low fat, gluten free, kosher, organic as well as fruit combos of fresh fruit, dried fruit, chocolate dipped fruit, tropical fruit, fruit of the month.  Hungry yet?  If getting back in shape is on your dad's list of things to do this year give him a helping hand.  Your sure to find all sorts of ideas for birthday presents for dadwhen you start to think of fun ways to help him out and get him motivated.  Let him know its because you want him to be around for a long, long time.
