The first step in making the ornaments that you wantis to collect the materials, which you will use. In this process, you can use any of the easily available materials, so long as you can easily cut it with a tool like the saw. Once you have the materials, you should cut them into small sizes such that each piece can make the body jewelry you want. The second step of this process is to mark the design of your jewelry on the cut piece of material. The outline can be marked with a pencil. This step determines the appearance of the jewelry. Therefore, you should be very cautious to avoid mistakes. One way to avoid mistakes when cutting out the design is to use a considerably small saw. However, you should not cut exactly on the outline. You should leave some margin.

The third step involves refining. The refining of body jewelry involves the use of tools like chisels and files to reduce the jewelry to the exact size. Apart from that, you will have to make the edges of the ornament smooth using a tool like the sandpaper. Moreover, you might have to drill a hole on the piece for attaching the hanger or for adding fancy detail like beads. The fourth step involves the addition of detail to the body of the jewelry. This step is applicable if your body jewelry has an embedded design on its body. While chiselling it out, make it a little deeper because of the finishing step. This way it will still be noticeable after the final step.The fifth step involves finishing of the design. This is where you make the surface and the edges of the jewellery smooth. A sand paper would be very appropriate for use in this step.
