To be knowledgeable about how to get rid of zits,How to Get Rid Of Zits Articles you will need to know what cause them to show up. Zits are formed by the clogging of the pores due to an increase in sebum production. This sebum contains bacteria that cause the zit to swell shut which holds the nasty things inside. The bacteria can spread from one area to the next causing a larger breakout to occur. The bacteria, if left to it, can cause infections which cause the zit to turn red and get swollen even more.

Now that you know what the cause is, you can learn the ways of how to get rid of zits.

 1.      Get rid of the bacteria in the pores. Wash you face a few times each day to get rid of the bacteria. Use a gentle scent and color free liquid soap. Bar soap is more abrasive and can irritate the skin not to mention it is more drying than the liquid will be.

 2.      Reduce the amount of sebum you allow on your face. The oil produced on the skin can block the pores and allow the bacteria a place to grow. The less oil you have, the less zits show up. After washing, use Benzyl peroxide to treat the bacteria and kill it before it spreads. It will also help to reduce the swelling.

 3.      Exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells that can get in the way of the pore openings. Products with Salicylic acid in them are a good exfoliate to remove the dead skin cells. Most of the time a gel can be found with a 2% mixture in it that can be applied to the face to keep it protected all day long.

Washing the face and applying the two above products two times a day should be enough to keep you zit free. Make sure to wash or change your pillowcase once a week to prevent the oils and dirt from returning to your skin.
