Although everyone is similar in that they are of the same human race,Pizza Adds Uniqueness to the World Articles there are still many cultural differences that can't be ignored. For instance, martial arts are a major part of the lives of many Chinese people. In Ethiopia, the women wear traditional clothing made of a cloth known as shemma. The Mexicans use chili powder, epazote, and cocoa frequently. Every country has their own customs and preferences when it comes to everything from clothing, architecture and even religion. One of the most noted differences, however, involves food. Even though some countries may have the same food items, most times they are dissimilar in many ways. For instance, the popular food pizza is made differently in America than it is in Italy.

One of the main reasons that this particular food presents such a contrast in these two areas is probably because it was created in Italy before it ever hit the United States. Because Italy was first in line before the U.S., America incorporates some Italian influences along with the customs of other countries when it comes to making the dish.

Pizza in the United States is not the same all over the country, however. Several states and regions have come up with their own specific styles. For example, Chicago, Illinois is known for the deep-dish style. In Detroit, Michigan some bakers incorporate a twice-baked dish. Those in New York City have created their own unique type of thin crust.

Speaking of the crust, the Italians usually make theirs with a thin crust that is usually made with only three ingredients, flour, natural yeast and water. In America, the dish usually has a much thicker crust with several other ingredients like olive oil.

Italians also have their own differences. Pizza marinara, for example, is usually made with garlic, anchovies and oregano. The Veronese use mushrooms and prosciutto crudo. The Sicilians use a wide-variety of toppings such as seafood, green olives and peas.

Just because pizza may be different in both countries and throughout the regions that lie within them doesn't mean it's a bad thing, however. Differences are what make things unique and more interesting. If the dish was the same everywhere in the world, it probably wouldn't be as popular or enjoyable. The differences every country and city offers helps to make the world a more fascinating place.

If every custom and culture was the same, no one would have a need to ever visit or learn about another country during their vacation. People would do better staying home and saving their money. Because there are unique contrasts, however, everyone is able to enjoy and appreciate everything that other regions of the world have to offer.
