Many families face a challenge trying to balance their household budget.  A great way to help do this is to decrease what you spend on necessary items such as food and groceries,Using Grocery Coupons can Lower Your Grocery Store Bill Every Week Articles because by definition you have to spend money on these each week therefore if you can decrease the amount you spend then that reduction can be a direct after tax savings that will help your budget each and every week.

A large percentage of families do not take the time or expend the effort to take advantage of coupons and grocery sale items.  Historically you could find printed grocery store coupons in your local newspaper.  The interesting thing is that because of the decline in people subscribing to newspapers, coupons are now distributed via the postal service to nearly all households by default, so it is even easier to use coupons now than it was in the past.  In the event that you did not get grocery coupons in the mail or you forgot to bring them with you to the store, most grocery stores will also have a sales flyer that contains all the coupons, in-store discounts and loss leaders printed up and sitting in a stack when you enter the store.  The only thing you have to do to take advantage of these coupons and discounts is to simply not be too proud to use them.

Personally, my wife and I have never been too proud to use coupons nor have we ever have found it to be embarrassing at all. As a result of using grocery store coupons, we have nearly always ended up saving roughly ten to twenty percent on our normal grocery purchases every week, and sometimes we have saved even more.  The really good deals are called loss leaders for a reason, which is because in many cases the store is actually losing money offering you the product at the discounted price.   This is done to get you in the door because they know that you are probably also going to buy your produce, milk, eggs, bread, and other weekly grocery and food items once you are in their store rather than going to the trouble to stop at a different store for those items.  So in summary, the next time you are headed to the grocery store, grab a grocery basket, the sales flyer, check your pride at door, and start saving your family's hard earned money!
