If you are in the situation where you have to scrap your old bathroom and redesign it,Bathroom Comfort and Luxury Articles or design a new bathroom from scratch in a new house or extension, don’t feel sorry for yourself.  Very few people have the privilege of having a dream bathroom exactly the way they want it.Yes, it is a lot of mess and discomfort for a while, and yes, it may be worrying you as to whether you will be able to do everything right so that you don’t have regrets later.  But to offset this anxiety, why not find yourself an experienced and reliable firm of plumbers who know just what they are doing? The way to go about is to make a serious search to see exactly what you want.  Many stores, both brick and mortar and online, have a variety of displays with different layouts, bathroom fittings and furniture, and colour schemes.  If you really start to take notice, you will see bathroom ideas all around, on TV, at friends’ houses and in magazines.   If you visit your local bookstores, you are bound to find so many books that it will take days to look through them all.You will be able to glean ideas from here and there, and the next step is to put them all together.Get yourself some graph paper, measure the space available in your bathroom-to-be and lay those dimensions out on your graph sheet.  Then get the floor space measurements of each piece of bathroom furniture and fittings that you would like to have.  Draw them out to the same scale as the bathroom, but on a separate sheet of paper.  Cut each piece out.Now you will find it very easy to move each piece around in your bathroom space to see how everything fits in best.  Before you go any further, show your layout to your plumbing service and get their feedback.  They will be able to tell you whether the plumbing and the rest of the building construction will accommodate the positions you want for your furnishings, and whether the layout will be viable in terms of cost. They will know whether the drainage and the hot and cold water pipes will relate to other plumbing in the house, such as the kitchen or other bathrooms.Once you have sorted everything out to your satisfaction, then you decide on your décor, colours, tiles, mirrors and shelves.  This part is usually more flexible and you have more freedom.  Generally people choose a style that blends in with the rest of the house; for example a Victorian type bathroom in a more classical style of house or perhaps Japanese serenity in a modern minimalist type of house. However there are no hard and fast rules, and this especially goes for a children’s bathroom.  However, just bear in mind that pixies and teddy bears might be awfully cute now, but your children may be gravely dissatisfied with this scheme when they become teenagers!Of course, you also have to consider whether you are planning a long stay in your house.  If you think you might be relocating within a year or two, try and design a neutral bathroom that lends itself to easy change of décor and colour scheme.  If you imbue it with too much of your own taste and personality, you may find it a little more difficult to sell your house in the future.  You will have realised by now that a bathroom makeover is really expensive.  People know this when they look to buy a house.  They will have to factor that cost into the price of the house, and that could take them just beyond what they are prepared to pay.
