ÿGenerators or amazing pieces of machinery and do the tricky task of converting mechanical energy into electrical energy that we can use.  An disposable piece of equipment, great for taking to locations that electricity isn’t accessible nearby or when power has been temporarily cut.

Many houses, businesses and public buildings are hooked up to generators in case of a loss of power saving the global economy millions of dollars every year.  Waiting on idle they can be run when power is lost to recover and run their locations on minimal power usage so they were run more effectively.

There are 2 main sections when talking about generators - mechanical and electrical.

Electrical:
•  What’s known as the field is a magnetic field that must be created when this machine runs to work, it is often created using fixed magnets.
•  The armature is the part that produces the power for the machine by producing the electrical current.

Mechanical:
•  The stator is the stationary part of the rotor system and depending on how it is setup may also act as a field magnet.
•  The rotor is the part of the machine that rotates and is essential in all varieties of machine. A system used in hundreds of different applications it helps create the force that becomes electrical energy.

Steam power is a form of power used to run generators on a big scale and is used to power the machines that run electrical generating plants - steam is a highly valuable form of power that is just as important today as when it was first discovered.

Without a doubt one of the most powerful inventions in mechanical history this piece of equipment is used all over the world every day, in every application and for every purpose. With power consumption increasing more and more constantly the need to ensure stability and protect against the loss of power is becoming more and more important.
