Try to keep things put away if at all possible, however, and it will make a difference in your comfort level. You should also take preventative measures when cleaning up the kitchen, such as using baking soda in the refrigerator or switching to plastic cutting boards instead of wood. These will help you to keep your kitchen clean, once it has been cleaned properly.

If your bathrooms are dirty, this not only poses a problem that is unsightly, it also poses a health risk. Take the time that is necessary to clean the bathrooms and to get them to the point where you would be comfortable with anyone walking in to use them. Once a bathroom is clean, it really only takes a few minutes on a weekly basis in order to keep it clean. Make it part of your weekly routine to clean the toilets, shower and to do any towels that may have been used during the week. You will likely find that you are spending less than 20 minutes weekly doing so.

Once your house has been cleaned properly, it should only take you a matter of 10 or 20 minutes per day to keep the entire home cleaned permanently. Schedule the time that is necessary to keep your home clean and to take care of any areas that have gotten away from you in the meantime. You will find that you are enjoying your home much more as a result.
