It is a common problem. You really want to have a bathtub which is a pleasure to bathe in,Small Bathtubs Don't Mean Small Pleasure Articles and especially one which enables you to soak in water, but your bathroom is so small that you just can't fit in a traditional sized tub. Thankfully, modern designers have understood the problem and have come out with a range of small bathtubs that are absolutely perfect for a small room, and which can make your bathing experience worthwhile no matter how much space you have available. Here we will look at some of the innovations that have come about in the past few years which means that you can enjoy a decent bathtub no matter the size of your bathroom.

It must be said that much of the design thinking that has gone into the new range of small bathtubs probably takes a lot of influence from the Japanese bathtub, which is traditionally much smaller than the Western bathtub. One innovation that has come about in the past few years is the use of a seat in the bathtub, which means that instead of lying down you can simply sit. Of course, this means that the bathtub can be smaller, and instead of stretching out and the body assumes a more vertical position and yet still manages to soak to a good degree.

Allied to this, is the design idea that modern bathtubs can be deeper instead of wider, and this can be achieved since modern materials such as fiberglass for instance, can essentially be molded into almost any shape you can think of. As mentioned above, a small bathtub with a seat can make for a really nice bathing experience, and by using modern materials it is possible to make a bathtub that can fit in almost any area in the bathroom and have an internal shape that makes it possible to be extremely deep and therefore a good soaking tub without taking up much space.

In order to get the depth, most people think that you need to sink the bathtub into the floor. However, modern technology can come to the rescue again, since there are now a wide range of materials that can be used to place the bathtub on a pedestal, which means that in effect the bathtub is raised from the floor and then sunken, giving the depth that is needed to make it a true soaking tub without taking up the width.

So if you are thinking that a small bathtub will not give you a good bathing experience, think again. With modern design techniques, allied with the use of modern materials, some of the bathtubs that are now available are absolutely perfect for giving you a great bathing experience but without taking up the space. And not only do you get a great bathing experience, but you also get a more spacious bathroom which you can look at why you're relaxing in the bathtub, soaking up to your neck in hot water!
