For a while I think about this possibility, back in the old days, we have what known as classified ads. A few years ago, I remember used software when you can submit millions of ads in a split of second to various free classified ads websites.

Today this practice completely banned, as this is called black hat marketing technique.
The Alternatives
For quite a while, we are forced to rely on legitimate paid marketing technique. In order to put your ads on several legitimate websites you need to pay some money. The problem is this can cost you thousands of dollars each day, something that not all people can afford to do.
Another trick is using what so-called SEO or search engine optimization. This method may give you free advertising, as your result will be displayed on the top ten of search engine result. For example, let's say your website is about dog training.
If you have done SEO properly, whenever your customers try to search for terms dog training on Google, they will see your website at the first page, free publication for your website. The problem, to have this kind of result you will need to spend years to build back links and contents before starting to see some progress.
The Rise of Web 2.0
Fortunately internet is place when everything keeps evolving. From the old static html page to the dynamic php website, now we have entered a new era of internet world called web 2.0
Put it in simple words, web 2.0 is a website where visitors can actively making contribution such as adding comment, writing post and upload images. Those are just a few things web 2.0 websites able to do.
One of those websites is called blog. Blog is known popularly as online journal, where you can put your thought, feeling or ideas freely. This website is the new source of online classified ads because you can leave comment and along with the comment you can add some signatures promoting your product or service.
All you need to do just find blog with similar topic with your product, you can do it through technocrati.com. After you find several blogs with similar topic like yours, you can start adding some insightful comments, maybe you agree with the author point of view or not. Later in the end of your post you can mention your blog and website, this will give you instant publication in less than 24 hours.
