Planning

Do: Start your planning early,Exhibition Stands - A List of Helpful Rules Of Thumb Articles about 12 weeks generally will leave you a good amount of time to choose your exhibition stands, furniture and other displays that may be required for an event

Don’t: Forget to promote your presence at the event to as larger and significant audience as possible. Use your companies’ website, email contacts, existing customers and social media sites like twitter to promote your attendance

Do: Attend the event venue prior to your own show; this will help you spot any possible dead zones where the flow of visitors may be less likely to pass through.

Don’t: Pick an event that is too far from your business home, the cost of hiring vans to transport your exhibition displays and staff may outweigh the benefits of exhibiting in the first place.

Exhibition Stands

Do: Try and source the best exhibition stands possible and have professionally designed graphics.  Exhibition stands are a fantastic advertisement for your business and will help attract potential customer.

Don’t: Try and save money in this area, exhibition stands will probably be your biggest outlay of money for the trade show, and that is for a very good reason.

Do: Consider buying a modular exhibition stand, they are versatile, easily transported and can be used to form an outstanding backdrop for your other displays

Exhibition Furniture

Do: Think carefully about what furniture you will need and what will best help the overall functionality of your exhibition stand.

Don’t: Take too much exhibition furniture. You want visitors to your exhibition stand space to be able to browse around your stand and view your products; a claustrophobic space will put potential customers off.

Do: Consider getting portable furniture. Portable lecterns and display counters will be an available choice of exhibition furniture, and they have the wonderful advantage of being much easier to transport that normal furnishing.

Don’t: Forget that exhibition furniture can be used for advertising too. Display counters and lecterns can be wrapped in your companies graphics.

Do: Consider hiring furnishings if you only plan on exhibiting at a single show.

Lecterns

Do: Take a lectern if you’re planning on giving a public demonstration on your product or a talk on the services your business offers. Lecterns will give off a more professional feel when addressing an audience

Don’t: Forget to check the lecterns microphone level prior giving your talk, to loud and you will appear obnoxious, to quiet and you simply won’t get heard

Do: Make sure all your notes are placed on the lectern and in order prior to giving your talk.

Don’t: Forget to practise your speech or demonstration before the event; you want to be well prepared.

Display Counters

Do: Choose a stylish reception counter of an adequate size to greet incoming visitors

Don’t: Place your promotional materials on a display counter. A literature stand is a much better tool for helping your magazines, leaflets or catalogues into the hands of event attendees.

Do: Use display counters to display your products, but be sure they fit in well with your product. You want your display counter to look stylish on its own, but not to overpower your product placed upon it.

Don’t: Forget to check a display counters size and weight baring ability. If a product is too heavy or will overlap your display counter, then it will be useless to you come event day.
